Makita Kitchen Bar is all about bringing people together. Our recipe for a good time is to use only the best possible ingredients, provide exceptional service and offer a fun and relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy with friends. 

Makita, which means “due north” in Japanese, is appropriately located at the north end of the Glebe. We are very excited to be a part of this community and to share our beautiful space.

At Makita you can expect to eat comfort food with an Asian twist. Our chef Elliott Gosselin has been experimenting with Asian flavours for many years and his food is a reflection of what he likes to eat in the comfort of his own home.

Our menu consists of small plates, main courses and late night snacks. Our wine list is simple yet well balanced with a focus on sake. Our beer selection is eclectic and our cocktails unique and lively.
